Tourist Area and Corridor Signing Program (TAC)

In support of economic development and tourism, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) in Partnership with the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED), is now accepting applications. The purpose of this program is to aid visiting motorists by providing them with supplemental guide signs to tourist attractions.  If you have an interest in participating in this program, please read and follow these simple guidelines:

  • Read over all the information contained within the TAC Brochure provided.
  • If you feel that you meet the criteria for the program, download the accompanying application.
  • Please fill out all necessary information needed on the application as indicated. (Incomplete applications will not be considered by the committee.)
  • All applications and supporting documentation must be sent to the SHA at the address provided on the application or by email to taccoordinator@sha.state.md.us.
  • Once applications have been evaluated by the Eligibility Committee, you will be notified as to approval or denial and directed on how to proceed.
