Miss Utility Information

Miss Utility is a one-call notification center that notifies subscribing underground facility owner-members about proposed excavation plans.
Under Maryland law, you must provide prior notification to all owner-members of underground facilities when you intend to perform an excavation or demolition. Most underground facility owners are required to become owner-members. Owner members receive notification of planned excavation or demolition from the Miss Utility one-call notification center.
As an owner-members of underground facilities (traffic signals, fiber optics, highway lighting, Automated Traffic Recorders), MDOT SHA is notified of proposed excavation or demolition within MDOT SHA rights-of-ways.
Anyone proposing excavation or demolition within MDOT SHA rights-of-ways must provide information to the one-call notification center. To learn your responsibilities, read the following:
